The word on the street is that the next installment in Rockstar's successful "Grand Theft Auto" franchise will be hitting gamers hands this April. Originally expected last year, GTAIV will be the series' first entry in the "next-gen" console arena. On a sidenote, "one of the contributing factors" to the delays turned out to be getting the game running up to par on Sony's Playstation 3 console.

Second Trailer from GTAIV now available

The second trailer for Rockstar's next iteration in Grand Theft Auto series, entitled "Looking For That Special Someone," is now available online for your viewing pleasure. For now I'll hold my judgement on GTAIV's graphics until I see some gameplay but I will note that I think the trailer's cinematics are intense and intriguing and it looks to not disappoint story-wise.

Only one of our registered Xbox Live gamertags was lucky enough to make it through all of the requirements for the "Rule of Three" contest. We'll have to resort to the third and final method to get more of our accounts into the Beta program which means that there will be at least one or more copies of Crackdown obtained by our staff when it drops next week on February 20th.

There are reports trickling in that the Playstation 3 is now selling for the slightly reasonable price of $499. Will Wii win with gamers in Japan?

Will Wii win with gamers in Japan?

Let's try saying that headline five times fast. JC Barnett, a video game artist/developer living in Japan, ponders this question in the Japanmanship blog. Whereas Sony and the unlucky but plucky Microsoft are pushing power over anything else, Nintendo has wisely focused on the products, the products that will sell the console.
Nyko charges up a better solution

Nyko charges up a better solution

Nyko has released new docks for Nintendo's Wii-mote and PS3's Sixaxis controllers. The MSRP for the Wii-mote dock is $29.99. The suggested price for the Sixaxis dock is $39.99. Unlike the Xbox 360 and Wii, however, the controllers for the PS3 do not have removable rechargable batteries. So Sixaxis gamers are going to have to be without the peripheral while it charges in its dock.
