Microsoft’s Xbox 360 gets Elite

With the announcement of the up and coming Xbox 360 Elite, Microsoft is poised to improve their bid for king of home entertainment electronics.
The new Elite SKU will house a 120GB harddrive and a built-in HDMI along with a complete black exterior. Microsoft has stated that they will also be releasing black accessories to match the new console’s appearance.
But the new Elite doesn’t come without a price… literally. Retailing at $479.99, the Elite is drifting in on Sony’s PS3 price territory which has some MS fans up in arms. Early adopters, who will have to folk over $179.99 if they choose to upgrade their existing console with the new hard drive, are really getting the short end of the stick.
If you’re a videophile with an addiction to Live’s Video Marketplace then we’re betting that you’re ready to hand over your hard earned cash since your 20GB hard drive is probably already filled to the limit with downloaded shows and movies.
Personally, we’re hoping that a price drop for the Core and Premium are on the horizon.
