The Florida Gators are the national college football champs after defeating Ohio State 41-14. In TV ratings for Monday, FOX also came up as a winner.
FOX’s first-ever BCS bowl telecast delivered a New Year’s Day ratings win, but the matchup didn’t draw overwhelming numbers.
FOX averaged a 7.5 rating/12 share for the night Monday, holding off CBS, 6.5/10, for the top spot. ABC finished third at 5.8/9. NBC came in fourth with a 3.3/5, and The CW trailed at 1.6/2.
I didn’t bother watching most of the game because I’m a passive Georgia Tech fan who’s still in shock from our bowl lost.
