Kris Allen Wins ‘American Idol’!

May 21st, 2009

This year’s American Idol is Adam… wait, what… Kris Allen!?! Much to the surprise of some viewers, Adam Lambert, the show favorite at times, didn’t come up with the final win Wednesday. Allen, the new 2009 Idol, had this to say:

I’m sorry, I don’t even know what to feel right now. This is crazy

Nude photos of Cassie spill onto the internet [update]

May 7th, 2009

Cassie Ventura, the R&B singer and fledgling actress, is pretty pissed over an internet phenomenon that seems to be common among female starlets — nude photos of her topless have made their way onto the Internet for all to see.

The word on the intertubes is that they’re real… and we’re not talking about the photos (they’re also pierced, by the way).

Shouldn’t you be googling right now?

Update: It looks like another round of photos have leaked showing full nudity.

Lebron James named most valuable player!

May 4th, 2009

Was there any question as to who the MVP of the NBA would be this year? No, really… was there? The National Basketball Association announced today that Lebron James was a landslide selection for the award.

Sure, Kobe may still arguably be the best player in the NBA, but this year belongs to King James. Not only did his Cavs finish atop the NBA standings, they did so in a fashion left many opponents running for cover.

Also worth noting is that James finished second in the defensive player of the year voting, which propels him into the category of Michael Jordan — being a force on both ends of the court.

Welcome to the NXE!

Are you ready? Microsoft has just released it’s new dashboard upgrade to millions of 360 gamers worldwide.

The New Xbox Experience, or NXE, is a re-design of the existing Xbox 360 dashboard that shifts the focus more towards the console as a hub for online community gaming while placing more emphasis on the Xbox Live Marketplace.

The NXE also adds in new features such as NetFlix media streaming, the ability to install games to the hard-drive, and Avatars which are akin to a HD version of Nintendo’s Miis.

The update is free and available to all 360 gamers now.

Phil Collins to retire after 30 years of music

April 25th, 2008

Phil Collins is all set to call it a day after 30 years in the music industry. While he’s not really calling it quits, Collins admits that he wants to be in a more behind-the-scenes role as he pursues a more leisurely life:

… the 57-year-old hopes he will now have more time to indulge in his favorite hobby – collecting memorabilia from the Battle Of The Alamo, the historical 1836 clash between the Republic of Mexico and the rebel Texan forces in San Antonio, Texas

One of my personal favorites, Collins has always seemed to pour all of his personal experience and emotion into his music.
